Paul Wells was a minor character in Season 11 of The Walking Dead. He was a member of the Reapers, a group of mercenaries that had survived the apocalypse by attacking and plundering other settlements. Like the other Reapers, Wells was fanatically devoted to the leader, Pope. He also demonstrated a cocky and arrogant attitude, which is what would ultimately lead to his demise.
Death[]
In the episode "For Blood", the Reapers spotted a large horde of zombies approaching Meridian. Pope sent Wells out to lure the horde away from Meridian's walls, taunting them into following him into the woods. As he jovially drew the horde his way, Wells had his back turned to another horde that was coming from the direction he was going. As the second horde drew near, he turned and started stabbing as many zombies as he could. However, Maggie Rhee and Negan Smith were hiding amongst the second horde, wearing skin masks to hide amongst the dead just as the Whisperers had done. The pair closed in on Wells and stabbed him several times before leaving him to be eaten alive by the horde.
