Phillip Anderson (portrayed by Bradley Gregg) is a character from A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: The Dream Warriors. He is the first character to die in the film and one of Freddy Krueger's most creative kills throughout the Nightmare on Elm Street series.
Biography[]
Phillip was a patient at Westin Hills Asylum, committed there due to apparent suicidal mania. In truth, however, Phillip wasn't suicidal at all; he and the other "suicidal" patients were actually being hunted by the dream demon Freddy Krueger.
Phillip was known as "The Walker" by the other patients since he had a habit of sleepwalking. In his free time, he used his artistic skills to make marionette dolls out of papier mache. In an ironic twist, Phillip's creativity gave Freddy the inspiration to kill him the way he did.
Death[]
As Phillip slept, Freddy invaded his dream, appearing before the young man as a life-sized puppet. He slashed open Phillip's arms and legs, pulling on his tendons like marionette strings and walked him toward an open window on the fourth floor. To anyone in the waking world, Phillip appeared to be sleepwalking. The other patients saw Phillip from out a window on the ground floor of the east wing and cried out, thinking that Phillip was attempting suicide. In the dream world, Freddy cut the tendon-strings and Phillip fell from the window to his death on the ground below.
