Robin Hinton is a supporting character in Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. She was an Inhuman who possessed the extraordinary power to see the future, although she could not control this ability and would experience her visions in a non-linear pattern, often seeing visions of events that would not happen for decades alongside closer events. This caused Robin to be detached from current events as she often lost sense of what time period she was in. She typically depicted her visions as drawings on paper for others to see. Among them were the destruction of Earth and S.H.I.E.L.D.'s return from the past to save what remained of humanity from enslavement by the Kree.

History[]

Destruction of Earth[]

In an alternate timeline, Earth was shattered when Glenn Talbot gained the ability to manipulate gravity following heavy exposure to Gravitonium. Attempting to increase his power, Talbot absorbed Daisy Johnson into his body, gaining her power to generate shockwaves. Talbot had wanted to protect the Earth from a coming threat, but ended up destroying the planet as he attempted to extract all Gravitonium from within its crust.

As the Earth broke apart, the surviving members of S.H.I.E.L.D. attempted to save as many people as they could and relocate them to the Lighthouse, a massive bunker that had been built by the U.S. Government in the event of an apocalyptic disaster. Robin was among the survivors to be relocated to the Lighthouse, although her mother had died during the cataclysm. She was instead raised by S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Melinda May, who paid close attention to her visions of the future, which included humanity's subjugation by the Kree and later liberation from Kree rule. Unfortunately, the other members of S.H.I.E.L.D., having lost so much and unable to comprehend the non-linear nature of Robin's visions, lost all hope for humanity's salvation by the time the Kree arrived.

True Believers[]

The few people who believed in Robin's visions would become known as the True Believers. They would take care of Robin as they spent the next several decades living under Kree domination, but would be banished to the last remaining hemisphere of the broken Earth, struggling to survive on meagre resources whilst fending off attacks by Vrellnexians: genetically-engineered monsters used by the Kree to keep the human population in line. Although the Kree Watch hoped that Robin and the True Believers would be devoured by the Vrellnexians who roamed the surface, they actually survived and took refuge in the remnants of the Zephyr One.

Pieces falling into place[]

Years later, Robin had grown into an elderly woman who was still lost in times and gave the likes of Samuel Voss vague indications about the arrival of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents from the past. Her predictions later came to pass, and she was overjoyed to be reunited with Melinda May, who had been brought into the Zephyr One along with Enoch by Voss. When asked about her presence in the Zephyr One, Robin told May that she had predicted that they would survive the crash, although this version of May was not the same who had adopted Robin as her daughter.

Following the S.H.I.E.L.D. team's arrival, Robin was approached by Leo Fitz and Jemma Simmons, who asked her some questions to which Robin answered with her typical enigmas. Fitz and Simmons were then replaced by Phil Coulson and May, who were not a lot more successful. However, Robin stated Coulson's full name, claiming that he could "bring all the pieces together". She then claimed that this was the day of the end.

Death[]

Later, Robin was in bed when she was approached by someone else: Daisy Johnson. Robin thanked her for the wooden robin Daisy had given her decades ago and mentioned that she was supposed to tell something to her "mother", actually meaning May, and when Daisy asked her whether she could tell her instead, Robin cowered in fear under her blanket. The conversation was then interrupted by Voss, who understood the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents' frustration of not getting answers and suggested to let Robin get some rest.

However, a conflict occurred between S.H.I.E.L.D. and the True Believers since Voss intended to kill Daisy since she was considered responsible for the destruction of Earth. Robin then stepped in and urged the True Believers to stop fighting, but Voss wasn't willing to risk Robin giving Daisy the answers she and her friends needed to return to their time and turned his knife on her, stabbing her in the stomach.

Robin was found by May, and revealed that in her timeline, she had been adopted by May, much to May's surprise. In her last moments, Robin finally remembered what she was supposed to tell May so that the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents could return to their time and save the world: they had to find the Inhuman Flint, whose existence Robin had predicted decades ago. Her mission being accomplished, Robin told May that she was ready to enter an eternal sleep.

Salvation[]

Eventually, S.H.I.E.L.D. would find a way to return to their own time and would prevent Earth's destruction. As a result, the events that Robin had lived through never occurred and that version of her never came to be.
