Roman Calhoun was a minor character from Season 11 of The Walking Dead. He was an agent of the Commonwealth government and a henchman for Lance Hornsby, performing whatever dirty jobs needed to be done to protect the security of the Commonwealth. This included spying on residents, kidnapping and even murder if the situation called for it.
When Eugene Porter moved into the Commonwealth, he entered into a relationship with a woman called Stephanie. However, "Stephanie" was actually Shira and was an agent like Roman. Deciding that Eugene no longer had any useful information, she was extracted and Roman aided in her relocation. Eugene, in his heartbroken state, began tailing Roman, suspecting that he might have harmed "Stephanie", but he ultimately discovered the truth.
In the episode "Lockdown", Roman and Shira visited Carol Peletier's apartment in search of Daryl Dixon, whom Hornsby wanted captured. While they didn't find him, during their search, Roman found a photograph of Judith and R.J. Grimes, keeping it as a reference. Later, as the town was going into lockdown, he and Shira pursued Daryl through the town square, but Jerry and several other Alexandrians and Hilltoppers intentionally blocked his path.
In "A New Deal", Hornsby - now in jail for crimes committed by Sebastian Milton - sent message to Roman and Shira. On Hornsby's order, the two agents shot and killed a group of workers who were tasked with cleaning up following the Founders' Day celebrations. The murdered workers then reanimated as zombies, attacking and killing several people in the town square, including Sebastian.
Death[]
Roman's death isn't shown on-screen, though it is confirmed in the episode "Variant". After learning of Hornsby's involvement in the Founders' Day riot and subsequent death of her son, Pamela Milton had one of her soldiers execute Roman by shooting him in the head. Later, when bringing her reanimated son to Hornsby's cell, she also delivered Roman's corpse and a machete, intending for Hornsby to chop up the body and feed it to her zombified son.
