Dr. Rooney (portrayed by Bonita Friedericy) was a minor character in Star Trek: Enterprise. Appearing in the Season 2 episode "Regeneration", she was a member of a United Earth scientific research team that had discovered alien debris in the Arctic Circle. Among the debris were two alien bodies, both cybernetically augmented.
The cyborg bodies were moved to one of the buildings on the research site where the scientists observed the nanotechnology inside the bodies regenerating their cell structures. Meanwhile, Rooney continued to examine the alien debris, determining it to have once been a sphere-shaped starship.
While Moninger was alone studying the cybernetic creatures' regeneration process, one of them woke up and attacked him. Drake and Rooney were outside when they heard screaming and phase rifle fire coming from the lab and ran to investigate. When they entered, they found Moninger on the floor, exhibiting signs of an infection; black lines moving under his skin which was turning grey and mottled. Both Drake and Rooney fell victim to the cyborgs as well.

As a Borg drone, Rooney took part in the assimilation of her team's transport vessel. While on a path to Borg space, the transport attacked a Tarkalean vessel, abducting and assimilating its crew before being intercepted by the Enterprise NX-01. The transport would escape, but would encounter Enterprise again hours later. Rooney was one of the first two Borg to attack Captain Archer and Lt. Reed after they had beamed aboard the transport. She was shot and killed by Reed, who recognised her as one of the Arctic researchers even after her augmentation was complete.
