Selim Bradley is a minor character from the 2003 series of Fullmetal Alchemist. He is the adopted son of Fuhrer King Bradley, the ruler of Amestris.

Japanese Voice: Makoto Tsumura

English Voice: Zarah Little

Selim Bradley also appears in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, though his character is radically different. While posing as King Bradley's son, he is actually the Homunculus known as Pride and Bradley's superior among the Homunculi.

History[]

Selim only appears in the last three episodes of the series. He is unaware that his adoptive father is actually a Homunculus, nor is he concerned about the military events taking place within or around Amestris, he is simply a young boy living an ordinary life who greatly admires his father. Prior to the rebellion within Central Command, the Fuhrer gives Selim a toy train set for his birthday and also entrusts his "secret treasure" to the boy.

As the insurrection takes place, Selim and his mother are escorted out of their home in the event that insurgents may target them. However, their escort car crashes when the modified Frank Archer appears who is heading for the Fuhrer's mansion. Selim is not hurt but he overhears Archer saying that the Fuhrer may be in danger and he runs back home to try and help his father.

Death[]

In the final episode "Laws and Promises", Selim returns home and uses the key his father gave him to open the safe containing his father's "treasure". What Selim doesn't know is that his father's "treasure" is the skull of the human he used to be. He takes the bag containing the skull from the safe and finds the Fuhrer fighting against Roy Mustang in the cellar. Selim is overjoyed to find that his father is alright, but proximity to the skull in the boy's arms weakens Bradley. Enraged, Bradley grabs his son and strangles him to death. Mustang uses the skull to weaken Bradley and kill him before leaving the mansion with Selim's lifeless body in his arms.
