This article lists the various background character deaths that occur in the romantic comedy/horror Shaun of the Dead.
- The first on-screen death occurs 21 minutes into the film. Shaun and Ed leave the Winchester pub and see what appears to be a couple kissing by the corner. When they turn away, the man's head leans sidewards with a dull crunch. His partner is actually a zombie who has been eating at his neck.
- As Shaun walks home from the newsagents, a corpse can be seen lying outside the open front door of a house. Shaun doesn't notice the body or any of the zombies now roaming the street.
- A one-armed zombie lurches through Shaun's front door. After failing to dispatch it by throwing empty cans and cushions at it, Ed puts the zombie down by smashing a glass ashtray into its head.
- Shaun breaks into the garden shed, grabbing a cricket bat and a shovel. He and Ed then kill two zombies in the garden through repeated bludgeoning.
- Shaun, Ed, Barbara, Liz, David and Dianne duck down an alleyway and spot six zombies in a park beyond a wooden fence. The zombies are feeding on a corpse.
- The zombified owner of the Winchester attacks Shaun, but he and the others hold the landlord off by rhythmically beating him with pool cues. Shaun then smashes the landlord's head through the jukebox which electrocutes him.
- After wasting multiple shots, Shaun manages to kill one zombie with the rifle that was hanging above the bar.
- As the zombie horde overruns the Winchester, Shaun, Ed and Liz are the only three left alive and take cover behind the bar. Shaun pours alcohol over the bar and sets it alight to ward off the zombies, but forgets to grab the box of shells left on the bar. The heat from the flames causes the shells to go off, launching in random directions and killing three zombies.
- When Shaun and Liz get out of the Winchester, two army trucks arrive and run over four zombies.
- Soldiers pour out of the trucks and gun down many of the zombies. Several others are bludgeoned with rifles or stabbed with bayonets.
- Yvonne appears and clubs a pair of zombified biker twins with a golf club.
