Shere Khan is the main antagonist in a majority of adaptations of Rudyard Kipling's novel The Jungle Book. He is a vicious tiger who hates mankind and believes he is the rightful ruler. However, he was born with a crippled leg and was called the Lame One. The only one who ever idolized him was a jackal named Tabaqui. When he fails to kill people a baby strays into the jungle and gets adopted by wolves and gets named Mowgli. Despite the safety, Shere Khan vows to one day kill him. As the years pass, Mowgli always manages to escape and one day, Shere Khan is killed in a buffalo stampede.
