The Skreeth was a sentient, bipedal alien that appeared in the sci-fi series Farscape. This species was monogendered (female) and possessed various insectoid traits such as chitinous skin tissue and an ability to cling to different surfaces. It could also render itself invisible in order to infiltrate and assassinate. The Peacekeeper commandant Mele-On Grayza hired a Skreeth to infiltrate Moya and capture John Crichton in order to obtain his knowledge of wormholes.

History[]

The Skreeth first appeared in the Season 4 episode "Kansas". While Crichton and most of Moya's crew were on Earth in 1986, Commandant Grayza employed the Skreeth to infiltrate the Leviathan while it remained in close proximity to a wormhole. Using its powers of camouflage, the Skreeth went unnoticed by Scorpius, Sikozu or Pilot.

In the following episode "Terra Firma", Moya traveled through the wormhole and arrived in Earth orbit in late 2003. The Skreeth snuck aboard the Earthbound transport pod and observed the humans' attempts to analyse the technology that Crichton had brought back with him. The creature later ambushed D.K. and his wife Laura as they were leaving the IASA laboratory, killing them both after learning what little they knew. Though the Skreeth had a means of communicating in real-time to Grayza, it could not convey Earth's coordinates or offer information on the planet's defences. It determined that it needed to interrogate Crichton directly and followed him home where it sprung its attack.

Death[]

The Skreeth attacked John, his father Jack and his sister Olivia in their home in Florida. John and Aeryn fought against the creature and Aeryn disabled it with repeated pulse pistol fire. Ka D'Argo had discovered the bodies of the Skreeth's earlier victims in the IASA parking lot, detecting the Skreeth's scent. He took his own ship Lo'La and followed the trail back to the Crichtons' home where he saw the Skreeth about to attack again. D'Argo charged his ship's main cannon and fired on the Skreeth, vaporising it.
