Snake (portrayed by Douglas Arthurs) was a minor antagonist in Season 5 of Smallville. He was a criminal and the leader of Metropolis' 13th Street Gang. He was referred to as "Snake" due to the serpent tattoo on the left side of his head. His real name is unknown.
Appearing in the episode "Vengeance", Snake and one of his fellow thugs mugged Martha Kent outside of a Metropolis homeless shelter, stealing the watch that her late husband Jonathan had once worn. However, he was then attacked by the masked vigilante known as the Angel of Vengeance. Though the Angel saved Martha's life, Snake still got away with the watch.
Clark Kent later worked with Chloe Sullivan to find the stolen watch and discover the identity of the Angel. It turned out that the Angel was actually Andrea Rojas, an employee at the Daily Planet. Clark pursued Andrea and asked for her help in finding his father's watch, and together they traced it to the 13th Street Gang's hideout.
Death[]
After being cornered by Clark and Andrea, Snake admitted that he had already sold the watch he had stolen. Andrea wasn't yet done with Snake, holding a vendetta against him for killing her mother years ago. Clark tried get Andrea to calm down, but she incapacitated him with a piece of kryptonite she kept in her locket. Andrea demanded to now why Snake had her mother and Snake admitted that he had been hired by Lionel Luthor. Andrea then took Snake's knife and stabbed him with it, ignoring Clark's pleas to spare him.
