
This article lists the various background character deaths that occur in the action-comedy film Snakes on a Plane.
- The film's first casualty is Daniel Hayes, a prosecutor from Los Angeles who is on vacation in Hawaii. He is captured by criminal Eddie Kim, hung by the legs from an overpass and beaten to death by Eddie with a baseball bat.
- Three of Kim's henchmen follow Sean Jones, who witnessed the murder of Hayes, back to his apartment. Fortunately, Sean is saved by the timely arrival of Neville Flynn, who shoots the three thugs before escorting Sean out of the building.
- The snakes that were smuggled onto the plane are released ten minutes into the flight. A cat caged up in the cargo hold is killed when a viper slithers into its carrier.
- A young couple are having sex and doing drugs in the plane's bathroom when a red python slithers inside, biting the young man in the throat. Another python enters and bites the man's girlfriend on her exposed breast. Two flight attendants listen to the thuds coming from behind the bathroom door, but are unaware that the couple inside are dying.
- In the second bathroom, a passenger goes to relieve himself, unaware of the taipan hiding in the toilet bowl. After getting peed on, the snake bites the passenger's penis. The passenger thrashes about and hits the back of his head hard against the door, leaving a trail of blood as he slumps to the floor.
- As the plane shakes and shudders, a woman in coach opens a paper bag to throw up in. A snake jumps out of the bag and bites her on the tongue.
- A sleeping woman wakes up to find a snake has slithered up her dress. She screams at the sight of the snake, which reacts by biting her right eye.
- As the fuselage erupts into chaos, Flynn carefully makes his way over the seats, shocking three snakes with his tazer.
- Ken, one of the flight attendants, is able to pick up a snake and toss it in the microwave oven in the galley. He turns the microwave on and the snake inside explodes.
- As Chen Leung carries Mercedes through the snake-infested fuselage, six bodies can be seen. The actual death toll is considerably higher.
- The attendants check the passenger manifest and call out for Dr. Robert Foster. Checking the seating assignment, they find the doctor's poisoned corpse still in seat, a large snake emerging from his mouth.
- Agent Harris meets with snake specialist Dr. Steven Price and informs him of what is happening on Hulu 1-2-1. He tells the doctor that at least 50 people have been killed on the flight.
- Inside the cockpit, Claire Miller is cornered by an anaconda. She reaches for a fire axe on the wall and uses it to chop the snake's head off.
- A young woman is bitten on the neck by a snake.
- Another passenger dies when he is bitten on the shoulder and ear by snakes.
- After a large Burmese python falls out of a light fixture, the surviving passengers panic and desperately clamber up the stairs to first class. The combined weight of the passengers causes the banister to give way and they fall to the deck, with two people dying after being impaled on sharp metal fragments protruding from the deck.
- Mary-Kate - Mercedes Harbont's pet Chihuahua. Paul Oswald grabs the small dog and throws her at the giant python, which constricts and devours the poor animal.
- Neville opens the door to the cargo hold and stabs two snakes on the other side of the door.
- In the cargo hold, Neville kills two snakes using the aerosol flamethrower Claire gave him.
- Neville skewers a snake using a harpoon gun he found in the cargo hold.
- In order to clear the cockpit of snakes, Neville has everyone strap themselves in before shooting out a pair of windows. As the cabin loses pressure, Neville and Troy open the cockpit door and the snakes are blown out of the plane.
- The snakes infesting the coach class are also blown out of the plane when the life-raft blocking them from reaching first class gives way.
- After the plane has landed, Sean is about to depart when a red python drops down and bites his chest. Neville draws his gun and shoots, killing the snake but also hitting Sean. Luckily, Sean was wearing a bulletproof vest that protected him from the snake's fangs and Neville's bullets.
