Steve Christy (portrayed by Peter Brouwer) was a supporting character in the slasher horror film Friday the 13th. He grew up in the small resort of Camp Crystal Lake which was run by his parents. During the 1950's and 60's, the camp was plagued by a series of accidents, most notably the drowning of Jason Voorhees, the son of the camp's chef Pamela Voorhees. In the wake of the string of mishaps and murders that occurred after Jason's drowning, Camp Crystal Lake was shut down for good. However, in 1979, Steve began a project to restore and reopen the camp, hiring Alice Hardy and a number of others to assist in the restoration. On Friday the 13th of June, the project began in earnest, but Steve left his assistants to carry on with their work while he went into the nearby town.

Death[]

On the way back to the camp that night, a terrible thunderstorm struck and Steve ran his jeep off the road. A police sergeant picked him up and drove him back to the camp. When he arrived, he ran into Pamela Voorhees, the former camp chef whose son had drowned in the lake back in 1957. Driven mad by her son's death and the injustice that no one was punished for it, Pamela took it upon herself to kill everyone involved with the camp's reopening. She attacked Steve and stabbed him in the gut with a hunting knife. She then left Steve's corpse hanging from a tree where it was later discovered by Alice.

Steve was the seventh character to die in the film.
