Stewart McAlden (portrayed by Bill Ralston) was a minor character in Peter Jackson's 1992 horror-comedy Braindead. He was an explorer who had travelled to the legendary Skull Island in search of the rare Sumatran rat-monkey, a hybrid creature that was born from tree monkeys that had been raped by giant plague-carrying rats.

McAlden and his crew succeeded in finding and caging the rat-monkey, but this brought down the wrath of the local Aboriginal tribe that demanded the creature's release, believing that whoever took it would be cursed. McAlden dismissed this tale and he and his crew fled from the angry tribesmen in a Jeep. During the ride, however, the cage containing the rat-monkey fell upon McAlden and the creature bit and scratched him. After the group had escaped from the tribesmen, they stopped and McAlden revealed a bite on his arm. The members of McAlden's crew, who were familiar with the legends surrounding the rat-monkey, fear the effect of the bite and pin McAlden down, hacking his arm off with a Nata axe. Just after cutting off McAlden's right arm, they spot another wound on his left arm and hack that off too. They then spot a scratch on McAlden's head and kill him by decapitating him.
