Suk-gyu is a main character from the animated horror film Seoul Station, serving as the film's secret antagonist. Throughout the film, he claims to be the father of protagonist Hye-sun, but the terrible reality is that he is actually her former pimp trying to take back the money that she owes him.

History[]

As Suk-gyu is searching across Seoul for Hye-sun, chaos erupts as a zombie plague sweeps through the city. He runs into Hye-sun's boyfriend Ki-woong, claiming to be her father, and the young man agrees to help him find her. Ki-woong takes him back to his apartment, though Hye-sun isn't there and the two are soon attacked by zombies. They manage to escape from the apartment by climbing out of the bathroom window and evade the infected as they reach Suk-gyu's car, which they use to search the city for Hye-sun.

During their search, Suk-gyu and Ki-woong come across an overturned ambulance, unaware that Hye-sun had been aboard it. They then travel to the hospital, but find it overrun with the undead. Later, they head for a quarantine zone, but the police refuse to let them enter. The quarantine is soon overrun by the infected, forcing Suk-gyu and Ki-woong to flee.

Death[]

Towards the film's end, Ki-woong and Suk-gyu find Hye-sun at an apartment showroom. Upon seeing Suk-gyu, Hye-sun reveals to Ki-woong that the man is her pimp, not her father as he had claimed. Throughout the entire ordeal of scouring the city and avoiding the infected, Suk-gyu's only concern was claiming the money that Hye-sun supposedly owed him. As he attempted to attack Hye-sun, Ki-woong came to her defence, brandishing a kitchen knife. Suk-gyu, however, easily overpowered Ki-woong, wresting the knife from him and slashing his throat with it.

Leaving Ki-woong to bleed to death, Suk-gyu followed Hye-sun through the showroom, cornering her within an extravagent apartment bedroom. Throwing her onto the bed, he prepared to rape her, holding her throat with one hand to keep her down. As he did this, Hye-sun lost consciousness, having apparently choked in Suk-gyu's grasp. Shocked that he had seemingly killed her, Suk-gyu attempted to revive Hye-sun with CPR. While checking her for vital signs, he noticed a scratch on Hye-sun's ankle from where a zombie had clawed at her hours before. Hye-sun then awoke as a zombie and tackled Suk-gyu, pinning him to the floor and biting him. The bloody details are obscured by the bed with only Hye-sun's and Suk-gyu's shadows cast over the wall indicating Suk-gyu's demise.
