Theresa "Terry" Chaney is a supporting character in the horror film Final Destination. She was a student at Mount Abraham High School in New York and the girlfriend of Carter Horton. She was a survivor of the Volée Airlines Flight 180 disaster and the second survivor to die in the film.
History[]
Terry was among several students from Mount Abraham High School to be selected for the school's annual field trip to Paris, France in 1999. She was seated next to her boyfriend, Carter, on the plane. When Alex Browning experienced a premonition of the plane exploding and became hysterical, Carter helped to remove him from the plane and Terry followed. A short while later, the plane took off without Alex, Carter, Terry, Clear Rivers, Tod Waggner, Billy Hitchcock and their teacher Ms. Lewton. Right after takeoff, the plane exploded just as Alex had predicted, killing all 287 people aboard.
A month after the disaster, Terry and the other survivors attended the funeral service held for the victims from their school. During the service, Carter got into a fight with Alex, blaming him for the incident, but Terry stepped in and broke them up.
Death[]
Two days after the funeral and the death of Tod, Alex and Clear were sitting outside a café discussing the grand design of Death and how Alex believed that it was now stalking him and the other Flight 180 survivors. During the discussion, Alex saw the reflection of a bus in the café window, but when he turned to the road, there was no bus in sight.
At that moment, Carter's car was passing by, but when Carter saw Alex and Clear, he suddenly turned around and stopped in the middle of the road so that he could confront Alex. Terry got out of the car and tried to calm Carter down. Frustrated by Carter's attitude, Terry decided to break up with Carter right then and there. She then walked away, but stopped in the crosswalk and told Carter that he could "drop fucking dead". The moment she spoke those words, a speeding bus suddenly came out of nowhere and hit her, killing her instantly and splattering the others with her blood.
