This article lists all of the minor/background character deaths that occur in the eleventh and final season of AMC's The Walking Dead.

Acheron: Part I

• After entering Fort Connors, Maggie's team breaks into a supply room. Kelly and Magna lobotomize two immobile zombies on the floor before they start looting.
• The pulley line the group are using to hoist supplies out through the skylight breaks, but Daryl manages to catch the load before it drops. In the process, however, he cuts his arm and a small drop of blood falls on one of the many slumbering zombies in the hangar. This is enough to wake up every zombie in the room and the team inside have to fight their way out.
  • Maggie and Carol take down two walkers with arrows.
  • Lydia strikes down a walker with her staff.
  • A fourth walker is struck by one of Maggie's arrows.
  • Rosita slices through the heads of three zombies with her sword.
  • Lydia kills a further two zombies with her staff.
  • Kelly shoots two walkers with her sling.
  • Carol and Maggie shoot a further four zombies with their bows.
  • Alden, Daryl and Jerry fire arrows from the skylight, killing three zombies walking towards Maggie.
  • Rosita scalps another walker.
  • Two more walkers are struck by arrows from above.
  • Maggie finds a loaded handgun among the corpses in the hangar and shoots five more walkers before running out of ammo.
  • A further three zombies are killed by arrows.
  • Carol picks up a partially-loaded assault rifle and shoots two walkers. before needing to reload. After reloading, she kills four more.
  • Magna smashes a zombie's skull in with her mallet.
  • Lydia pierces a zombie's lower jaw with her staff and punctures its brain.
  • Rosita slices through a zombie's head as Kelly and Magna ascend to the skylight.
  • Carol kills at least six more zombies with her rifle while Maggie, Lydia and Rosita ascend.
  • After Carol runs out of ammo, Daryl kills four more zombies that attack her while she loads up her bag with ration packs. Two are killed with crossbow bolts and two more have knives thrown into their heads.

• While Maggie leads a group down through a subway line to Meridian, they come across several bagged bodies filling up the width of the tunnel. Daryl inspects one and the corpse attempts to bite him through the plastic enveloping it. Daryl draws a knife and stabs it in the head.
• Unwilling to turn back, Maggie orders the group to put down each and every bagged walker in the tunnel in order to clear a path.
• Gage is attacked by a particularly fat zombie, but Negan comes to his rescue. Negan pushes the zombie against the wall and then cracks its skull open with a crowbar.
• As the team reach a train car at the end of the line, a horde of walkers approaches from behind them.
  • Daryl and Agatha shoot two walkers at the front of the horde.
  • Two more walkers are scalped by Elijah and Cole.
  • Duncan smashes a walker's head in with a sledgehammer.
  • Agatha stabs a walker in the back of the head.

Acheron: Part II

• After being left behind by Negan, Maggie drops down from the train car and shoots a zombie that had been grabbing at her leg.
• Another walker reaches for Maggie while she is on her back, but she kicks its head so hard that she kills it.
• Maggie shoots five more walkers before running out of ammo.
• Gabriel drops down into the train car and uses the butt of his shotgun to kill five walkers inside.
• Inside another subway tunnel, Daryl and Dog find the remains of a survivors' camp. Dog sniffs at a sleeping bag and the walker lying in it stirs. Daryl then shoots the walker with his crossbow.
• After Alden comments on how no one is willing to look at Gage following his turning, Maggie tells him the disturbing story of an incident that occurred before she joined the Wardens. One day, they came across a frail old man, who asked them for help in return for food. Even though Maggie knew the man was lying, she was starving, so she decided to go through with it. Once at the man's house, she held a knife to his throat and searched his pockets, where she found a chloroform rag he was planning to use on her. Once she smothered him with it, Maggie entered the house and locked Hershel in a room, after which she searched the building and killed three more members of the man's group. She, however, heard thudding coming from the attic. Thinking the group might have been keeping prisoners, Maggie decided to investigate. Once upstairs, she discovered a zombified woman with all her limbs, eyes, tongue, and even vocal cords removed, while inside her belly there was something that was trying to get out. In the attic, there were three more just like her, only still alive. Despite the horrific discovery, the very first thought that crossed Maggie's mind was that, if they're alive, there must be food in the house. After she killed them, Maggie did indeed find lots of food.
• Daryl is followed through a sewer pipe by a walker, but he manages to get into a position to fire his crossbow and kill it.
• After emerging from the crawlspace, Daryl uses his flail to kill two walkers waiting on the other side.
• Dog attacks a walker, knocking it down and tussling with it. Daryl fires off a bolt that just narrowly misses Dog and kills the walker.
• Daryl stabs two more walkers before tending to the wounded Roy.
• Back in the train, the zombie horde breaks down the door to the car that Maggie's team are trapped in.
  • Gabriel fires his shotgun and kills three zombies - including Gage - in one shot. He then proceeds to fire six more shots, killing multiple zombies.
  • After expending his shotgun rounds, Gabriel switches to an assault rifle, killing four zombies with it.
  • Maggie and Agatha kill six zombies with arrows.
  • Cole, Alden and Elijah use their blades to stab several zombies.
  • More zombies approach from the opposite train car. Maggie hands Negan a gun and he proceeds to shoot three zombies.
  • Alden, Agatha, Elijah and Cole continue killing approaching walkers with their melee weapons.
  • Daryl enters the train from behind the undead horde and empties an ammo clip to kill sixteen zombies.
  • Alden, Agatha, Elijah and Cole kill a further five zombies on-screen. Their total kill count is likely higher.
  • Daryl stabs the last four zombies on Negan's side of the train car. He then removes the seat blocking the door, allowing the rest of the group to get through. Once everyone is through the door, Daryl takes the grenade that Roy gave him and stuffs it in the lead zombie's mouth. He then kicks the zombie back before shutting the door and taking cover. A second later, the grenade explodes and destroys the remaining zombies.

• Maggie's team arrive on the road leading to Arbor Hills and the group are shocked to find the road lined on either side with wooden posts to which dead bodies have been strung up.

Hunted

• After being seperated from her team, Maggie finds herself in an abandoned shopping mall. She is attacked by a walker in a stairwell and struggles with it, pushing it against a railing. The railing gives way and the walker plummets several floors, taking Maggie's flashlight with it.
• On another floor of the mall, Maggie finds Alden, but both are attacked by Reapers. One pins Maggie to the floor and almost kills her with his sickle, but Maggie reaches for a nearby glass bottle and shatters it before stabbing the Reaper in the neck. As the Reaper clutches his wound, Negan appears and finishes him off with a crowbar to the head.
• Outside once more, Maggie, Alden and Negan come across Agatha, who stabs three walkers while trying to protect Duncan.
• In his wounded state, Alden stabs an approaching walker, but misses its brain and stabs through the cheek. He is able to stab its brain on the second try.
• Carol, Magna, Rosita and Kelly are searching for their missing horses by the river. Unfortunately, they only manage to find four mutilated corpses with severed heads and legs strewn across the ground.
• In a distant wood, Gabriel comes across a wounded Reaper. The Reaper asks if Gabriel will pray for him, but Gabriel refuses to, instead spliting the Reaper's skull with his machete as penance for trying to kill his friends.
• Maggie, Negan, Alden and Agatha continue on through the woods when a herd of walkers attacks them.
  • Negan takes out two walkers with his crowbar.
  • Agatha stabs a walker in the head.
  • Another two walkers get clubbed by Negan.
  • Maggie stabs a walker approaching Negan from behind.
  • Agatha stabs her second walker.
  • Alden stabs a walker with his spear before falling to the ground.
  • Agatha stabs a third walker before another bites her arm. That walker is then stabbed by Maggie. However, more undead swarm over Agatha, who yells at the others to run.

• Back at Alexandria, Carol, Magna, Kelly and Rosita have returned with four horses. Later on, Carol leads one of the horses into the stable where she slaughters it for food.
• Shortly after leaving Alden behind in a ruined church, Negan and Maggie come across a walker on the road which Negan puts down with his crowbar.

Rendition

• In the morning following the Reapers' attack, Daryl guts a walker to cover his scent.
• Michael Turner - This is the Reaper who was killed in the abandoned mall by Maggie and Negan in the previous episode. After his body is brought back to the Reapers' compound, Mancea kneels over him and performs a funerary ceremony.

Out of the Ashes

• The episode begins with Aaron and his daughter Gracie walking through a dark, red-tinted forest. It becomes clear that the scene is a nightmare as Aaron looks around to find himself surrounded by walkers, Saviors, Wolves and Whisperers. Aaron kills the walker, but then Gracie disappears and the other enemies move in and repeatedly stab Aaron. He wakes up after seeing a flash of Mays screaming "STOP!"
• Jerry alerts the people in his house that Alexandria has been breached. As Jerry and others run outside, a walker can be seen chewing on the intestines of a resident it has just killed. Jerry rushes over and beheads the walker with his sword.
• At the wall, residents can be seen putting down walkers that have entered through the breach.
• As residents try to lift a wall panel back into place, a zombie walks up the slanted panel and falls over the edge. Rosita then kills it while it is down on the ground.
• While the fallen wall panel is being pushed back into place, Aaron is struggling to hold off a zombie that's grabbing at his neck. Jerry steps in to help Aaron and uses a mallet to smash the zombie's head in.
• Out in the woods, Maggie and Negan are alone as they slaughter a group of walkers together.
• Maggie and Negan start arguing, with Negan asking Maggie why she hasn't yet killed him after all he had done to her. Maggie then raises her knife and throws it towards Negan. Negan ducks and the knife strikes a zombie that was ten feet behind him.
• Carol, Aaron, Lydia and Jerry arrive at the burnt-out ruins of Hilltop in search of salvage. There, they find several walkers within the walls, most of whom used to be their own people.
  • Carol kills several walkers with arrows.
  • Aaron spikes a number of walkers with a spear.
  • Jerry also spears several walkers.
  • Troy - A Coalition soldier who died during the Whisperers' attack on Hilltop. His zombified body is trapped beneath a pile of debris and Aaron takes a knife to his brain to put him down.

• Back at Hilltop, Aaron's group notice a group of walkers moving in a circular motion, like they are being herded. Realizing that a Whisperer is nearby, the group charge over and kill off the walkers, revealing that there was indeed a Whisperer among them.
• Aaron tortures Keith, the captured Whisperer, for information on any other survivors from his group, even going to far as to have a walker bite off one of his fingers. Keith cries in pain and tells Aaron that there are only a few Whisperers left and that they are no longer a threat, only wanting to survive. Aaron isn't convinced and is about to sic the wrangled walker on Keith again when Carol fires an arrow, killing the zombie and stopping Aaron from killing Keith.

On the Inside

• After arriving at a deserted house, Connie and Virgil force open the doors as several walkers close in on them. They fall through the doors as they open, pulling a walker in with them. After struggling for a moment, Virgil kills the walker with a knife.
• Kelly finds Connie's old campsite, but it is deserted. The partially-consumed carcass of a horse lies on the ground.
• Connie and Virgil find themselves trapped in the house with a group of people who have regressed into a feral, animalistic state. Whilst running through a corridor, Virgil kills two of the ferals by bludgeoning them over their heads with a wooden table leg.
• After smearing herself with walker guts, Connie opens the front door of the house, allowing several walkers inside. Four of the ferals are killed and eaten by the undead.
• The last two ferals manage to follow Connie and Virgil out of the house, but are then killed by Kelly, who shoots them with her slingshot.
• Two walkers wander out of the house, but are put down by Magna and Rosita.

Promises Broken

• As Maggie and Negan are arguing about the futility of continuing their mission, a walker approaches from the trees. Maggie goes up to the walker and stabs its brain, afterwards identifying it as Teresa, the best friend of Elijah's sister.
• As punishment for breaking the Commonwealth's laws, Eugene and Stephanie are tasked with clearing walkers from an abandoned building. Ezekiel and Princess are at work clearing another building nearby.
• Eugene and Stephanie kill a group of walkers that wander into a park where Sebastian Milton and his girlfriend Kayla are having a date. Despite having his life saved, Sebastian berates Eugene and Stephanie for supposedly ruining his date.
• Another walker lurches up behind Kayla while Eugene and Sebastian are arguing. Unable to get Eugene's attention, Stephanie spears the walker herself, getting its blood all over Kayla who screams in horror and disgust.
• After encountering a lone survivor in the woods, Daryl and Leah follow him back to a dilapidated house where his wife and son are hiding. The man's wife is mortally wounded and close to death. Leah allows the man and his son to leave while the woman asks her to put her down before she turns. Leah finds herself unable to pull the trigger, but Daryl then steps up and shoots the woman in the head with his crossbow.

For Blood

• Using the same tactics as the Whisperers, Maggie, Negan and Elijah lead a large horde of zombies towards Meridian. Upon seeing the horde, Pope orders Wells to lead them away. As Wells leads the horde into the forest, he is intercepted by another horde which Negan and Maggie are hiding amongst. He manages to kill nine zombies before being killed himself.
• Maggie's zombie horde advances towards Meridian once more, but the Reapers have planted landmines around the perimeter. Three mines go off as Daryl watches, killing half a dozen zombies.
• As a storm passes through Alexandria, several residents barricade themselves inside Aaron's house. While Gracie is practicing with Judith's sword near a window, a walker reaches through a gap in the boards for her. Judith takes back her sword and frees Gracie by cutting the walker's hand off before stabbing it through the head.
• Another walker steps up to the window, but is stabbed by Virgil.
• Back at Meridian, the Reapers continue to watch walkers blow up as they step on landmines. Four walkers explode on-screen while for the rest of the scene explosions can be heard in the background.
• A walker standing close to Negan and Elijah is blown up by a landmine. Both Elijah and Negan are wounded by shrapnel from the device.
• Three more walkers are shown to be blown up as the horde nears Meridian's gate.
• In an overhead shot, four walkers are shown being brought down by a mine explosion.
• Back in Alexandria, Rosita leaves the house and goes out into the storm-swept streets where she starts killing zombies left and right in order to protect everyone still in the house. A minute later, Rosita comes back inside, having killed all the zombies near the house.
• Maggie hotwires a pickup truck from a garage outside of Meridian's walls. She drives it towards the gate before bailing out, letting the vehicle slam into the gate and break it down, allowing the zombie horde inside. Three Reapers down by the gate start hacking at walkers that make it inside.
• Deaver - A member of the Reapers played by Jacob Young. He comes across Maggie after Meridian is breached and attacks her. He would have killed her had Gabriel not shot him through the head with a sniper rifle.
• After leaving Leah behind, Daryl goes down into the courtyard to meet up with Maggie, stabbing three zombies in his way.
• Carver plunges a sickle into a walker's skull.
• Although still wearing a skin mask, Negan has drawn the attention of the undead and stabs a walker with his knives.

No Other Way

• Leah fires the Reapers' Hwacha launcher, sending several fireworks and bottle rockets blasting into the undead horde. Multiple zombies are struck by the projectiles and explode.
• Fisher - A member of the Reapers played by Branton Box. He tries to take cover when the Hwacha fires, but finds Maggie hiding in a steel container. The two fight and Maggie kicks Fisher into the Hwacha's line of fire. A rocket impales Fisher through the back before it explodes, blowing him to pieces.
• Back at Aaron's house in Alexandria, Rosita and Lydia are struggling to fend off a horde of walkers in the stairwell. Dianne joins them in slaying the zombies after it is revealed that Judith and Gracie are missing.
• Austin - A member of the Reapers portrayed by Lex Lauletta. He and Daryl get into a knife fight inside a classroom and Daryl manages to stab him in the abdomen. Austin then tries to flee, but Daryl grabs him and puts him in a chokehold, quickly strangling him to death.
• While Daryl is choking Austin, the silhouette of a zombie appears outside the window of the classroom door. Blood then suddenly spatters the glass as Leah kills the zombie.
• As Aaron's basement floods with rainwater, Judith and Gracie stand on top of a table. Judith stabs two zombies that make their way into the basement, but then drops her sword.
• As a third zombie grasps at Gracie, Aaron appears outside the window. Using his arm-mace, Aaron smashes what remains of the window and jumps into the basement, using his mace to smash the zombie's skull.
• Aaron bludgeons two more zombies while Judith and Gracie swim to the corner of the room.
• A zombie pounces on Aaron and the two go under the water. Aaron struggles for several frantic seconds, but soon manages to crush the zombie's head and re-emerges.
• Dianne and Rosita keep stabbing walkers on the stairs while Lydia escapes through a window.
• Jenson - A Reaper sniper portrayed by John Prozny. During the final stand-off between Leah and Maggie's team, Gabriel sneaks up on Jenson and stabs him in the head, taking his sniper rifle and getting into position to shoot at Leah and her remaining teammates. Jenson's death isn't shown on-screen, just the aftermath.
• Boone - A Reaper portrayed by Zac Zedalis. After Daryl agrees to let Leah and the remaining Reapers go, Maggie walks after them, brandishing a Magnum and shooting Boone in the head.
• Ira Washington - A Reaper portrayed by Ethan McDowell. As Leah and her remaining teammates walk away, Maggie shoots at them, catching Ira in the back. Maggie then walks past Ira and shoots him again in the head.
• Maggie arrives back at the church where she had left Alden. When she opens the door, a zombified Reaper lunges at her, but she stabs it in the head.
• While Gabriel and Daryl are sitting around a campfire, a walker approaches them. Just as Daryl is about to get up and deal with it, the walker is struck by an arrow as Maggie returns.
• By the time Maggie's group make it back to Alexandria, all of the walkers that were in the town have been exterminated and their bodies are being burned on pyres.

New Haunts

• Mercer organizes a "kill house" exercise in which Rosita and Daryl take part, though they are paired up with rookies from the Commonwealth Army.
  • Rosita and Green enter their kill house and a walker emerges from behind a door. Rosita struggles with it briefly before stabbing it in the head.
  • Inside their kill house, Daryl and Jake Daniels enter a room to find two walkers feeding on an unidentifiable animal. Daryl knocks down one walker, which doesn't get up afterwards. He then struggles with the second while telling Jake to carry on without him. He reaches for a rock and bludgeons the attacking walker in the head.
  • Green is grabbed by a walker, but Rosita pulls it off of him. While she struggles with the walker, Green picks up the knife he had dropped and stabs the zombie through the lower jaw.
  • Rosita and Green find their target walker marked with a red X, but another walker attacks as well. Rosita takes on the unmarked walker, kicking and breaking its knees to immobilize it. She then rips off one of its legs and uses the broken leg bone to spike its brain through the eye socket. Meanwhile, Green uses their shared knife to kill the marked walker.
  • Back in the other kill house, Daryl kills one zombie by pushing its head against an exposed pipe. However, the marked zombie is about to kill Jake, but Mercer appears at the window and shoots the zombie before it can bite Jake.

• Inside the cellar of an abandoned house, Carol is looking for bottles of wine when she is attacked by three walkers. She quickly stabs the first one, then trips up the second one using an old box before stabbing its brain, too. The third zombie manages to pin Carol to the floor, but she reaches for a corkscrew on a nearby table and uses it to stab the zombie in the back of the head.
• Daryl and Rosita later help out Mercer with training Sebastian to kill walkers. After two captive walkers are released from a steel container, Sebastian must kill them using a selection of weapons available to him. He kills the first zombie easily enough using a spiked hammer, but struggles against the second. At this point, Daryl steps in and shoots the second zombie with his crossbow.

Rogue Element

• While Carol and Hornsby are taking a wagon ride beyond the walls of the Commonwealth, a zombie that has had its face torn off is put down by a Commonwealth trooper, who stabs it with his bayonet.
• In the woods, two Commonwealth soldiers flee from a group of walkers. The injured soldier gets inside an abandoned car while the other is tackled by the lead walker. The soldier reaches for a long pipe and spears the walker through the head with it.
• After the soldier gets pinned down by a second zombie, Mercer comes to his rescue, splitting the zombie's skull with an axe.

The Lucky Ones

• On the way to Hilltop, Pamela Milton's convoy comes to a halt when they find a wagon blocking their path. Maggie is on the path single-handedly killing a group of walkers.
• After Maggie gets knocked to the ground by a walker, Daryl and some Commonwealth soldiers move in. Daryl fires a crossbow bolt and kills an approaching walker.
• Maggie manages to throw off the walker that had tackled her to the ground before stabbing her knife through its temple.
• While talking together about how their communities are run, Maggie and Pamela spot two walkers, each coming from behind one of them. Maggie kills the walker behind Pamela by throwing her knife into its head. Meanwhile, Pamela uses her hunting rifle to blast off the head of the walker behind Maggie.
• As Maggie and Hornsby are discussing the future, a swarm of walkers approaches Hilltop.
  • In an overhead shot, two walkers are shot dead by Commonwealth soldiers.
  • Maggie runs up to a walker and stabs it in the head.
  • Lydia knocks a walker to the ground before spiking it through the head.
  • Maggie slashes a walker across the face.
  • Elijah cuts down another walker with his kama.
  • Dianne shoots an arrow into a walker's head.
  • After watching Maggie and her friends slay several walkers caught in ropes, Mercer steps in and cuts down three zombies himself.
  • A walker reaches out for Maggie from behind, but she turns and stabs it.
  • A dozen zombies caught in the ropes are gunned down by Commonwealth troops.

• Out in a clearing in the woods, Hornsby fires his revolver into the air, drawing four walkers towards him. He then proceeds to shoot each one of them.

Warlords

• From the guard post at Hilltop, Elijah fires an arrow through the skull of a distant walker.
• While on the road, Maggie, Elijah and Lydia encounter three Commonwealth troopers, all of whom have become walkers. After putting the zombie soldiers down, they examine the bodies to see how they died, discovering slash marks on their necks.
• Ian, the leader of Riverbend, shows Toby Carlson, Jesse, Gabriel and Aaron a shelf full of human skulls, all belonging to people he had killed. According to Ian, these victims were all raiders who had attempted to plunder Riverbend in the past.
• While Ian is ranting about how he intends to kill Aaron and his group, Carlson draws a hidden gun and shoots Ian and the three guards in his office.
• A short while later, Carlson is interrogating the wounded Ian. The bodies of three other Riverbend residents are in the room, apparently killed by Carlson earlier.
• After a Commonwealth soldier takes a shot at the fleeing Jesse, Aaron bashes him in the face with his mace.
• While Carlson is outside the apartment complex, the soldier guarding Gabriel is ambushed and killed by Annie, who stabs him in the neck.
• Carlson and his soldiers take everyone at Riverbend prisoner, demanding to know what happened to the Commonwealth's missing weapons shipment. He asks six captives on the complex roof, but the prisoners don't know anything. Deciding that he believes them, Carlson then pushes the prisoners off the roof one by one. Only two victims are shown being pushed, but the fates of the other four are confirmed as their screams can be heard, followed by their impacts on the ground.
• Carlson radios a soldier called Hodges for an update, but Hodges cannot answer. His dead body is seen being dragged through a corridor by Maggie, who takes his radio.

The Rotten Core

• As Maggie, Elijah, Aaron and Lydia sneak through the halls of the Riverbend apartment complex, gunfire and the screams of the residents can be heard in the distance as Carlson's troops go about killing everyone in the building.
• Sebastian calls on Daryl and Rosita to do a job for him, namely to break into an abandoned mansion and retrieve a safe full of cash so that Sebastian can continue living decadently. With a horde of walkers surrounding the area, Sebastian has a soldier wrangle a single walker and stab it in the head, expecting Daryl and Rosita to use its guts to camouflage themselves from the horde.
• After getting inside the house, Daryl and Rosita knife a pair of zombies that had only recently turned.
• Inside the house's garage, Daryl is attacked by five zombies. He stabs two before dropping his knife, then takes a nearby metal bat and slugs the remaining three.
• After an alarm draws several zombies into the house, Daryl, Rosita and April prepare to fight their way out of the panic room. However, the sound of zombies snarling is suddenly interrupted by gunfire, followed by a knock at the door. Daryl opens the door to find Mercer and Carol on the other side, having killed several zombies to get in.
• After covering themselves in more zombie guts, Daryl, Rosita, April, Carol and Mercer try to walk out of the house through the undead. However, the armour Daryl gave to April to wear gets snagged on a zombie's clothing and she resorts to stabbing the zombie to get it off her. This alerts the rest of the horde and they move in to attack.
• Daryl, Mercer, Rosita and Carol kill all the zombies in the house with whatever weapons they have on hand, but they are too late to save April, who has been disemboweled.
• Back at Riverbend, a resident is seen running through a hallway, but is shot dead by Carlson.
• Carlson and two troopers corner Gabriel and Aaron up on the roof, but Elijah appears behind them and stabs the troops flanking Carlson with his kamas.
• When Daryl, Rosita, Carol and Mercer get out of the house, they meet with Sebastian's flunkeys Alves and Castle, delivering the money from the house. Rosita asks them how many people they sent in before them, and Alves says between 30 and 40. Mercer then responds to this by shooting Alves and Castle.
• In a flashback to two weeks prior, it is revealed who was actually responsible for stealing the Commonwealth's weapons shipment: Leah. After having killed three troopers in the convoy, she goes after one last living soldier who is wounded and attempting to crawl away. Leah grabs the wounded soldier and slashes her throat.

Trust

• Hornsby leads a squad of Commonwealth soldiers through the woods when they encounter several walkers. Suspicious of Daryl, Gabriel and Aaron's story regarding what happened at Riverbend, he asks the three to deal with the zombies themselves rather than have his men waste ammunition.
  • Aaron punches a zombie in the face with his mace, completely pulverizing its head.
  • Gabriel slashes a zombie across the face with his machete, but the zombie keeps walking towards him. After a moment, half of the zombie's head slides away and the body falls to the ground.
  • Daryl stabs one zombie through the head with his bayonet, then turns it towards another zombie and fires off a single shot, destroying the heads of both ghouls.
  • As Daryl, Aaron and Gabriel kill the remaining walkers, the camera focuses on Lance's face, who is now certain that the trio had been lying to him.

Acts of God

• Inside a large house, Daryl and a group of Commonwealth soldiers are attacked by walkers. Daryl kills one by stabbing it through the head with his bayonet.
• Romano is accosted by a skeletal walker and punches through its abdomenal cavity and through the brittle dry-wall behind it. For a few seconds, he struggles to free himself while the zombie snaps at his faceplate. He finally frees his arm and knocks the walker to the floor before using the butt of his rifle to smash its skull into bloody pulp.
• Daryl, Aaron and Gabriel are led to a junkyard by Romano's squad. After arriving, Hornsby contacts the team and tells them to execute the trio, leading to a firefight.
  • After Daryl takes Romano's rifle, he tosses it to Aaron. Aaron then shoots a Commonwealth trooper in the head before he can take cover.
  • Gabriel ambushes one of the soldiers, stabbing him in the leg before punching him out and taking his rifle.
  • Another soldier gets shot in the armpit.
  • The sounds of gunfire attract a number of walkers to the junkyard. Aaron turns to see the zombies incoming and fires three rounds, each one taking down a zombie.

• Three of Hornsby's men, now working for Leah, sneak into Hilltop and enter the burnt-out Barrington House. One of them opens a door and unwittingly sets off an explosive trap, killing all four of the soldiers.
• After Leah chases Maggie, Elijah and Lydia out of Hilltop, Hornsby and his remaining troops arrive. Inside Barrington House, one of the explosion victims has reanimated and is lurking in the halls before being shot by one of Hornsby's men.
• In the woods, Gabriel, Daryl and Aaron come across the body of a Commonwealth soldier, apparently killed by a trap that Leah had set.
• Maggie, Elijah and Lydia kill a trio of walkers in the woods.
• While Maggie is creeping amongst the trees, a lone walker approaches her and she stabs it in the temple.

Lockdown

• Inside an abandoned house, Daryl stabs three walkers as he works to clear the building.
• Daryl and Maggie hear gunfire outside and look out the window to see Hornsby and a squad of soldiers walking through the street, shooting a walker in their path.
• Two Commonwealth troopers drive into another part of the desolate town and start picking off the undead. One soldier shoots eight zombies ahead of him just before he gets attacked from behind by another swarm and devoured.
• The second soldier shoots two zombies before being ambushed by Negan, who is wearing a skin mask. After stabbing the soldier in the side, Negan tosses his rifle and radio away before leaving the soldier for dead.
• Hornsby later arrives at the scene where Negan had killed two of his men. The soldier accompanying him shoots the one remaining zombie still feeding on a dead soldier's ravaged corpse.
• Hiding behind a car, Daryl opens fire on Hornsby's group, striking one soldier in the head and hitting Hornsby himself in the shoulder.
• As Hornsby is yelling into a radio to enact the plan to eliminate the Alexandrian families in the Commonwealth, the soldier beside him is killed by Daryl's gunfire.
• A third soldier firing from behind a car is shot in the face.
• Negan drives a stolen Commonwealth SUV through the streets with another SUV and two soldiers chasing him. As the soldiers close in, Daryl appears from an adjacent street in the car he stole from Hornsby and rams straight into the soldiers' vehicle, likely killing them.
• A Commonwealth soldier sets up a radio transmitter on a rooftop, but just as he manages to get it working, he is ambushed by Maggie who stabs him in the back.
• Maggie, Daryl, Gabriel, Aaron and Annie go down into the sewers. Encountering two walkers in a tunnel, Aaron bludgeons one with his mace while Daryl stabs the other with his bayonet.
• The next morning, a horde of walkers nears the borders of the Commonwealth. Soldiers are mobilized at the perimeter and soon the air echoes with gunfire.
• After a Commonwealth Jeep is overturned, the two soldiers manning it use it as a barrier as they fire upon the horde. One walker is seen shot before Mercer and Rosita arrive on the scene.
• An unknown number of walkers are gunned down as Mercer attempts to rescue the two soldiers at Echo position.
• One of the Echo soldiers reaches for Mercer as multiple zombies grab at him. The situation becomes a tug-of-war and the unfortunate soldier is ripped in half.

A New Deal

• Down in the sewer, Maggie's group hold Hornsby hostage with soldiers pointing guns at them. Mercer and Pamela then arrive with additional soldiers and he scalps the zombie that Daryl had strung up as part of his trap for Hornsby.
• While Mercer holds Hornsby prisoner out in an open field, two walkers approach. Mercer walks over to them and cuts them down with his axe.
• In a gated off area, a group of cleaners are getting ready to clean up following the Founders' Day celebration. Suddenly, Calhoun and Shira enter and shoot all of the cleaning crew dead with silenced pistols. They then leave with no one noticing what they did.
• Later, while people are rioting after listening to Sebastian's incriminating monologue, the workers that were killed earlier have reanimated and start to attack people in the streets. Eight people are shown being grabbed and eaten amid the chaos.
• As one of the zombies notices Judith, Daryl uses Rick's old gun to shoot it in the head.
• Mercer makes his way through the panicked crowds and comes across two more zombies, shooting them both.
• Judith takes back her father's gun from Daryl and uses it to shoot a zombie that's feeding on a citizen.
• A zombie bites into Sebastian, tearing a chunk of flesh from his neck. Judith shoots the zombie to put it down, but there is no saving Sebastian.

Variant

• Aaron, Jerry, Elijah and Lydia camp out in an abandoned renaissance fair park. In the night, while Aaron and Lydia are on watch, walkers manage to get inside despite the group's precautions.
  • Aaron stabs four walkers in the head with his knife.
  • Lydia strikes down a walker with her staff.
  • Four walkers surround Jerry, but he stylishly cuts each of them down with his sword.
  • After witnessing the walkers turning a doorknob, Jerry and Aaron suspect there are Whisperers controlling the horde. However, one of the zombies climbs up to the roof of the building they are on and even picks up a rock with the intent to bludgeon Jerry with it. Aaron attacks the zombie and pins it down. Thinking it is a Whisperer, he grabs its face and rips it off, but it is no mask as the now-faceless creature continues snapping at him, only stopping after Aaron plunges a knife through its eye socket.
  • By morning, the entire horde has been slain and Aaron and Jerry ponder on whether or not there are other variant walkers out in the world.

What's Been Lost

• Inside a warehouse, Daryl is being strangled by one of two Commonwealth agents sent after him. The other agent is already dead, having been killed earlier. As Daryl struggles with his attacker, the corpse reanimates. Carol appears and helps Daryl, knocking his assailant back who is then bitten on the shoulder by his undead accomplice. Daryl then picks up his knife and stabs both of them in their heads.
• Inside an abandoned tunnel, Hornsby is grabbed by a zombie on the ground and struggles to free himself. Another zombie attacks Carol, causing her to drop her flashlight, but she draws her knife and stabs her attacker in the head.
• Several more zombies appear in the tunnel and Carol, having very little light, starts firing her rifle and blasts the heads of nine of them.
• One last walker grabs at Carol, but Hornsby picks up her flashlight and shines it in their direction. Carol breaks free of the zombie's grasp, pulling off the skin from its head in the process before she shoots its brains out.
• Carol and Hornsby make it out of the tunnel only to find a group of Commonwealth soldiers waiting for them. However, Daryl is clinging to their Jeep's undercarriage and breaks cover to shoot the soldiers before they shoot Carol. One of the soldiers survives being shot, but Carol stabs him in the head while he's down.

Outpost 22

• Maggie, Rosita and Gabriel attempt to escape from the back of a Commonwealth truck that's transporting them to an unknown location. Rosita and Gabriel manage to jump out of the moving vehicle, but Maggie falls back following a bump in the road. The sleeping guard that was supposed to be watching the prisoners wakes up and he and Maggie struggle over the guard's gun, which goes off as they fight and kills the soldier who is driving the truck.
• When the truck crashes, the soldier in the passenger's seat is killed after flying through the windscreen and becoming pinned on a tree.
• Before the crash, Maggie had thrown the guard out of the truck. In the morning, Gabriel and Rosita regain consciousness to find that the former guard is now a walker and is missing an arm. Gabriel draws the walker's attention while Rosita grabs the machete from its belt, then uses it to split its skull.
• As Rosita and Gabriel walk through the woods, two walkers attack them. Being the only one armed and able-bodied to fight, Gabriel kills both of them before they can harm Rosita.
• A trooper on a motorcycle stops at a railroad junction in search of Maggie, who is hiding nearby. The trooper's attention is drawn towards a child zombie that had been following Maggie to this point. As the trooper raises his sidearm to kill the walker, Maggie breaks from cover and uses a loose railroad spike and stabs the trooper in the armpit. She then grabs his gun and pistol-whips the trooper into unconsciousness. The child walker then grasps at Maggie, but she overpowers and restrains the boy. Holding the undead child close, she sorrowfully drives the spike into the back of its head to put it down.
• Nelson - A Commonwealth trooper portrayed by Greg Perrow. After Maggie stabbed him in the armpit, Daryl and Carol arrived at the scene and met with Gabriel and Rosita soon after. Without any medical supplies, the group could not save him, so they encouraged Nelson to tell them what had happened to their abducted friends. After some gentle persuasion from Gabriel, Nelson tells them that the prisoners were taken to a forced labour camp. As the others prepare to get underway, Gabriel stays with the dying Nelson, who asks the Father if God forgives men like him. After Nelson finally succumbs to his wound, Gabriel stabs his brain to prevent reanimation.
• At the labour camp, while Negan distracts the lead guard, three other prisoners attempt to escape. They do not get far as they are shot dead by the other guards.
• A Commonwealth train stops at a junction and a trooper gets off, stabbing a lone walker with his bayonet.
• The trooper from the train stabs another walker while trying to remove debris from the railroad tracks.
• As Daryl and Carol approach the stationary train, Daryl stabs a nearby walker.
• A trooper called Jones jumps off the unmoving train and puts down a walker by splitting its skull with a machete.
• A female trooper radios her fellow soldiers to inform them that she has cleared out a small group of walkers in the woods nearby.
• After Jones discovers the junction switch has been bent out of shape, one of the nearby troopers is shot by Daryl.
• Another trooper is shot from behind by Maggie.
• Jones - A Commonwealth soldier played by Vincent Van Hinte. After the rest of his unit are killed, he escapes on a motorcycle. Daryl takes another bike and goes after him through the woods. Jones crashes his bike and tries to flee on foot, but Daryl slides his bike under a fallen tree which then slides into Jones, knocking him off his feet. Daryl then steps over to Jones before he can get up and stabs him in the head.
• Wilson - The engineer from the Commonwealth supply train, portrayed by Bryan McClure. After being captured by the Alexandria group, he refuses to help them in any way, fearing that his family will be killed if he does. In his terror, he commits suicide by stabbing himself in the neck.
• The three escaping prisoners that were killed earlier in the day reanimate as walkers and make their way back to the camp at night as the prisoners are boarding the transports. They are once again gunned down by the guards.

Faith

• In the woods, Lydia rushes up to a walker and stabs it, against Elijah's warning as he was concerned it might've been one of the climber variants they had seen not long ago.
• Later on, after being met by Luke and Jules, Aaron's group kill three more walkers in the woods.
• Daryl and Connie make their way through an old sewer tunnel beneath Alexandria, stabbing two trapped walkers in their path.
• As Negan and Annie are about to be put to death, Ezekiel steps up and stands in the line of fire, prompting several other prisoners to do the same. Unmoved, the Warden orders his men to shoot all of them. One of the troopers, Roberts, decides that he can't go through with the slaughter and lowers his rifle, prompting all but one of the other soldiers to do the same. Roberts then turns his gun on the Warden and the last soldier in the firing line raises his to fire at Roberts, but Roberts fires first and kills him.
• Carol and Maggie hear the sound of Hershel's cries coming from within one of the houses. The soldier guarding him becomes increasingly irate as Hershel continues calling out, but soon Maggie bursts through the door and shoots the trooper in the head.

Family

• The zombie trooper that had killed the Warden is seen lying beside his corpse with a hole in his head.
• After the Alexandrians get the supply train moving, it splatters a walker crossing the tracks.
• As Commonwealth soldiers are attempting to corral a swarm of walkers, one Jeep picks up a stowaway. A climber grabs onto the rear of the Jeep and pulls itself into the back without the driver or passenger noticing. In the following shot, Mercer is being told over the radio that the Echo team Jeep has swerved into the horde, thus assuring the deaths of the two soldiers.
• Brooks - A Commonwealth soldier portrayed by John Prozny. While conducting a door-to-door search for Eugene, he arrives at the apartment where Eugene is hiding. Eugene unlocks the door then hides behind it as Brooks enters. Taking a flashlight, he knocks Brooks to the floor and removes his helmet before beating the soldier to death with the flashlight.
• When the Alexandrians arrive at Union Station, they find the building is sealed and soldiers waiting in cover for them. Tyler Davis and one unnamed Alexandrian are shot dead.
• A man wounded by gunfire crawls towards a pew that Connie is hiding under, but is shot in the head before he can take cover.
• Just as Pamela Milton arrives at the station, one soldier beside her is shot dead.
• After Pamela shoots Judith, three more of her soldiers are shot dead.
• At the Commonwealth's east gate, a guard spots a walker climbing the wall up to a guard post, shooting it once it reaches the top. However, he fails to notice a walker climbing up to his post until it is too late. The zombie lunges at him and bites a chunk out of his face, and as the guard flails in pain, he accidentally pulls the gate control lever, opening the gate and allowing the horde inside.
• Not long after the undead swarm enters the Commonwealth, Colonel Vickers reports to Pamela the situation, telling here that fifteen soldiers and even more civilians have been killed.
• After being penned in and surrounded by walkers, the Alexandrians struggle to hold off the dead. Several zombies are shot and stabbed so as to clear a path for Daryl, who carries the wounded Judith down an alleyway.

Rest in Peace

• After the title sequence, the episode continues right where the previous one left off, with the Alexandrians trapped in a blocked-off street, fighting off walkers on all sides.
• As multiple walkers are slain, one attacks and bites Jules on the arm. Luke rushes to Jules' aid, stabbing her attacker in the head.
• Jules gets pulled away by the horde and devoured and Luke is bitten on the leg. Connie shoots the walker that bit him.
• Carol and Negan shoot four zombies to clear a path to the alleyway that Daryl ran down.
• After being arrested in the previous episode, Mercer finds himself in prison. With the dead now swarming through the Commonwealth, there are some walkers within the detention center as well. As he paces in his cell, Mercer hears gunfire coming from outside. A zombie standing outside his cell door is shot, its blood and brains oozing through the grate in the door.
• Rosita, Gabriel and Eugene arrive at the Commonwealth Children's Home where they see numerous walkers feeding on victims. Eugene and Gabriel stab two nearby walkers as Rosita runs ahead to find Coco.
• Rosita runs into the nursery where Coco is crying inside an upside-down crib along with Adam and Miriam. Three walkers are inside as well, which Rosita quickly dispatches. One is killed after being cut down with Rosita's Macuahuitl and the other two are shot.
• Adrienne - A Commonwealth citizen portrayed by Keely McAllister. She makes it to the hospital where the Alexandrians are holed up, but the walker horde out by the entrance overwhelms her before she can get inside. Seeing several zombies bite her, Kelly, Magna and Carol have no choice but to shut the doors on her and leave her to be eaten by the horde.
• A zombie holding a brick smashes the window, allowing the horde to enter. Carol stabs the brick-zombie with her knife.
• A survivor who was helping to barricade the door is pulled outside and devoured by the horde.
• A further five zombies are stabbed before the horde pushes through the barricaded door.
• Yumiko stabs one more zombie before running away with her friends.
• After leaving their broken-down ambulance, Rosita, Eugene and Gabriel kill nine zombies before attempting to climb up a drainage pipe.
• In a shocking turn, Rosita falls from the pipe into the sea of undead beneath her. For a moment, it seems the walkers overwhelm her and Coco, but suddenly she emerges swinging her Macuahuitl, slaying four zombies before climbing onto the roof of the ambulance.
• At the Estates, two desperate citizens try to climb over the walls, but are shot by the soldiers on the other side.
• After Pamela is arrested, Mercer and the Alexandrians organize a strategy to take the city back from the dead, giving civilians riot gear and melee weapons to fight off the walkers.
  • Aaron and Magna lead a group of civilians in pushing back a group of walkers, killing several of them.
  • Daryl shoots a walker with his crossbow.
  • The survivors rig a series of fuel drums around the Estates and use Pamela's record player and an assortment of speakers pumping out the song "Cult of Personality" to lure the undead horde there. When the song ends, the fuses connected to explosives inside of Pamela's house are ignited, detonating the fuel in a chain reaction that obliterates the Estates and the entire horde, saving the Commonwealth.

• Near the end of the episode, Michonne is seen riding on horseback. As her horse runs by a walker, she uses her sword to cleave off the top of its head.
• Elsewhere, standing on a muddy riverbank, Rick Grimes throws a backpack onto a nearby boat while looking up at the sky. A voice from a helicopter echoes out from a loud-speaker, urging Rick to surrender. In his frustration, Rick thrusts his staff into the head of a zombie that's buried in the mud.
