Tinsel was a minor character in the anti-holiday film Violent Night. He was a member of Mr. Scrooge's gang who attacked the Lightstone family compound in order to steal $300 million from their vault. He was portrayed by Phong Giang.

History[]

Tinsel and the rest of Scrooge's gang had set themselves up as a catering company in order to infiltrate the Lightstone family compound. As the extended family were gathering at Gertrude Lightstone's mansion on Christmas Eve, the gang put their plan into action, locking down the mansion and murdering the security guards and serving staff.

With the ground floor of the mansion secured, Mr. Scrooge ordered Tinsel to go upstairs to find any other family members and bring them downstairs. Tinsel entered one of the upstairs rooms where he found someone hiding behind a Christmas tree who was dressed as Santa Claus. Little did Tinsel know that this wasn't just someone in costume, but the real Santa himself. Upon finding Santa hiding behind the Christmas tree, Tinsel ordered him to come downstairs. Instead, Santa tried to escape by using his Christmas magic to teleport up the chimney, but due to being inebriated, his magic didn't work properly when he tapped his nose. Tinsel then beat Santa with his NEA-15 and tried to force him to walk downstairs. However, Santa fought back, trying to wrest the assault rifle from Tinsel and causing him to fire upward wildly. As bullets tore through the ceiling, Santa's reindeer who were on the roof were startled and took off with his sleigh, leaving him behind.

Death[]

After Tinsel fired through the roof, Santa opened the window and looked out to see his reindeer galloping into the sky with his sleigh. Tinsel continued to attack him and the two tumbled against the Christmas tree, getting themselves tangled in the line of fairy lights. Santa managed to overpower Tinsel and pushed him out of the window, but found that he was tied to the killer by the line of fairy lights. Snagged by the cable, he was pulled out of the window as well and landed on the front porch of the house. As he picked himself up, he found that Tinsel had a much rougher landing, having been impaled on an icicle-shaped decoration.
