Ultron is a malevolent artificial intelligence and a major enemy of the Avengers in Marvel Comics. Originally created by brilliant scientist Dr. Henry Pym, Ultron soon developed self-awareness and abandoned its creator. As it grew and learned about the world, it harboured resentment against Pym and humanity as a whole. Seeing the human race as hopelessly flawed, Ultron determined that mankind had no right to exist and became hellbent on destroying not only humanity but all organic life on the face of the Earth.
Ultron, like so many Marvel characters, has had multiple incarnations across various media formats. Many times, it has been defeated by the Avengers and other heroes, but each time it has supposedly been destroyed its consciousness has survived and uploaded itself to a new robotic body.
