Will Stanton (portrayed by Ira Heiden) was a character from A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors. He was a paraplegic boy confined to a wheelchair who was committed to Westin Hills Asylum due to apparent suicidal tendencies. In truth, however, Will and his fellow patients were being tormented in their dreams by Freddy Krueger.

History[]

Years before the events of Dream Warriors, Will's parents were among the mob of Springwood residents who had banded together and killed the notorious paedophile and serial killer Freddy Krueger. However, Freddy would continue to terrorize the youth of Springwood as a demonic being that could enter the dreams of his victims, attacking them in their nightmares and killing them in the real world. Will was attacked by Freddy in his dreams which resulted in him apparently jumping from his bedroom window. The incident left Will unable to use his legs and he would spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair. Due to the nature of the incident, Will's parents believed that their son had tried to kill himself and they sent him to Westin Hills Asylum for treatment.

During his time in Westin Hills, Will would befriend fellow Elm Street kids Taryn White, Roland Kincaid, Jennifer Caulfield, Phillip Anderson and Joey Crusel. He spent his time outside of therapy playing roleplaying games, taking on the character role of "Wizard Master".

When Nancy Thompson came to the asylum as a new counselor, she believed the patients' tales of being stalked in their dreams, having previously been assaulted by Freddy in the past. After Kristen Parker revealed her ability to bring other people into her dreams, Nancy decided to try and teach the kids how to fight back against Freddy in their dreams. In his dream state, Will could still walk and took on the form of his Wizard Master character, being able to cast spells to fight enemies.

Death[]

After Freddy took Joey hostage in his dream, Nancy and the other surviving patients delved into the Dream World to rescue their friend. Freddy separated the group and Will found himself confronting Krueger in a dark hallway. Taking on his Wizard Master persona, Will cast several magical blasts that appeared to hurt Freddy. He ran towards Freddy triumphantly, but the spells hadn't actually affected him at all. Freddy grabbed Will, stating that he "didn't believe in fairy tales" before plunging his clawed hand into Will's heart.
