Baron Wolfgang von Strucker is a villainous character from Marvel Comics. A ruthless military commander and scientist, he was the founder of the Nazi deep-science division HYDRA and a major enemy of Captain America. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Strucker did not found HYDRA and hadn't yet been born while the organisation was at the height of its power. He would become a member of HYDRA's ruling council during the 21st century, developing advanced weapons and conducting human experiments to produce superhuman soldiers to further HYDRA's goal of world domination.
Strucker is portrayed by German actor Thomas Kretschmann and first appears in a post-credits scene in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. He makes a minor appearance in one episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and makes his final appearance in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Early on in the film, Baron Strucker is operating out of a research facility in Sokovia when it comes under attack by the Avengers. Even with the intervention of the Maximoff twins who had been enhanced by his experiments, Strucker's forces could not halt the Avengers' advance. Strucker was confronted and knocked out by Captain America before being taken prisoner by NATO forces.
While in his cell, von Strucker was visited by Ultron, who killed him and painted the walls of his cell with the word "Peace" with his own blood to send a message to the Avengers.
