Zach is a minor character from the TV series The Walking Dead. He is a survivor of the zombie apocalypse who had joined Rick Grimes' group at the West Georgia Correctional Facility six weeks prior to the events of the episode "30 Days Without an Accident". He is portrayed by Kyle Gallner.
History[]
Zach, having been a part of the prison community for six weeks, decides it's time to start contributing to the group and offers to join Daryl Dixon on a scouting run. He says his goodbyes to Beth Greene (whom he is in a relationship with) and joins Daryl, Michonne, Tyreese and Bob as they head for a Big Spot store where an abandoned military encampment is placed.
During the run, Zach takes a guess as to what Daryl did before the apocalypse, a game he has been playing since he arrived. He doesn't get a solid answer, but is determined to keep asking until he gets it right.
Death[]
Inside the store, the group run into trouble when Bob gets pinned beneath a fallen shelf and the ceiling caves in, allowing walkers on the roof to drop into the store. A wrecked military helicopter is on the roof as well, threatening to crash down through the compromised ceiling.
As the group are about to make their way out, a crawling zombie grabs Zach's ankle and bites him. The others cannot help him as the ceiling is about to collapse entirely, and so Zach is crushed when the helicopter falls through the ceiling.
